Space Biotechnology Group (SBG)

Space Biotechnology Group (SBG), subordinated to Academy of Space Technology (CAST), was established on November, 2012. As the only biological company in CAST, its study focuses on the Biomedicine, Biological health products and space breeding with an advanced biological R&D platform.SBG charges six sub-companies including Shenzhou biological technology Co.Ltd, Beijing DFH Biological Technology Co. Ltd, Tianshui Shenzhou Green Agricultural Technology Co. Ltd, Zhangye Shenzhou Green Agricultural Technology Co. Ltd, Beijing Shenzhou Green Agricultural Technology Co. Ltd, and Hainan R&D center for Space Breeding.

Located in Beijing Zhongguancun, SBG has three laboratories where scientists study on Space Breeding, Space Microbe and biomedicine respectively. As one company related to space science, SBG`s goal is to produce good biological products for human beings with modern biological technology and space technology. Differing from other space companies and institutes, SBG take the social value as their responsibility that is to carry forward the commercialization of space biological technology. Considering the future development of China space facilities such as Space station or human base in space, SBG now explores the new field of space biology to extend its activity range, such as advanced instruments for space biological experiment, high-level operation modes of civil space crafts or space station module.
